31 Days of Stories: Or thereabouts

August 31, 2009 by · 2 Comments

fail-24So, it’s been brought to my attention that August has 31 days in it, but that I’ve fallen short of that mark in my attempt to post a story a day. I humbly admit defeat. Due to a combination of technical difficulties in the home stretch, deadlines, and other obligations, yr. humble correspondent failed to meet the challenge he set for himself. When I attempted the same feat last year, I didn’t have a full-time day job, which assisted in my pulling it off. This year, I have a bit of egg on my face (or cheese on my head, depending). I hope that y’all have enjoyed the stories that have appeared on the site, and that you’ll continue coming back as we move into fall. Systems have been upgraded, I’ve instituted a macrobiotic diet and a regimen of Zen meditation to get me into fighting trim. There’s plenty happening in the next few months, including award season, which means the annual Giller roundup (five titles as opposed to 31, which seems manageable at this point, but stay tuned, you never know …).

As always, thanks for being here. Keep on keepin’ on, and we’ll see each other on the flip side.

You did a fantastic job. Pat yourself on the back, and eat that damn cheese on your head.

I thought all the story reviews were pretty great, but I feel bad about that poor humiliated cat.
